Heather Schmid to perform the National Anthem at Red Sox vs Yankee’s big rivalry game!

Locally based but internationally traveled performing artist Heather Schmid was the right choice for the sold out end of the season Red Sox vs. the Yankee’s game on September 25 at 7pm. This classically trained opera singer turned pop recording artist and performer has been wowing audiences with her stunning good looks, sharp dance moves and powerful vocals from Boston all the way to Sri Lanka! Add to that her new role as Host of the TV show ‘The INdustry’ premiering on on the WB on October 3rd, she is taking the term triple threat to a new level. With her allegiance firmly set with the Red Sox-she is eager to do her part at Fenway Park!

As a performer and recording artist Heather’s music is a fusion of her diverse background. Heather co-writes all of her music with Ed Bennett, the founder of VH1 and Comedy Central, a former MTV exec, and an internationally acclaimed music producer. He is the executive producer of her breath-taking new album, Goddess 2004. "Goddess," Heather explains, "is about the strength and power of women…it's spiritual, but not religious. It's Mother Nature as a force of equality." Just as Heather's Goddess is impossible to define, her style defies genre - the beat is hip-hop, and her vocals are pop, with the occasional operatic riff. You may not have heard of her (yet), but there's a good chance you've seen her and felt like you should have known her name. Recently signed by publicist Lizzie Grubman, Heather has been turning heads at parties thrown by A-listers like Ja Rule and Beyonce. Last week at Fashion week in NYC Heather graced the front row of many fashion shows (with the likes of Jessica Simpson) and was photographed at many afterparties.

Steve Kurtz of Marquee Management has taken on Heather as his new client. Steve is well versed in the makings of a pop star. Successes such as Christina Aguilera and Tina Novak can be counted as a few of his success stories. “Heather has that indefinable star quality.” Mr Kurtz says. “I am excited to be involved in her career and know that she has the makings for a big long lasting career.”

A singer since birth, Heather is a graduate of Boston University's classical music program. She was crowned Miss Millennium in 2001, rewarding her with a 30-state mall tour and prompting 30,000 eager fans who caught her act to snap up her CD. Heather's career has been as varied as her style- other past gigs include a weekly show in Vegas, a role on a comedic soap opera, High Spirits, and a tour in Japan. That gears her up to her new role as Host for ‘The INdustry’.

The ‘INdustry’ goes behind the scenes of the Entertainment world in an ‘Entertainment Tonight’ sort of format. Heather is hosting and guiding the viewer through Boston’s fresh designers, to the restaurant scene, all the way down a runway show at the Rack. “It’s been really fun! I love the fashions; I have been wearing all the latest amazing designs in the different scenes. I like the storylines, I love that it’s all about Boston and fashion, and entertainment. It’s great to feature the Boston scene because I am finding out what I didn’t know about too!” ‘The INdustry premieres on October 3rd at 10:30 am and runs every Sunday on the WB56.
